Matt Faulkner, who joined Matrix in 2021 as Chief Technical Officer, has been appointed as Managing Director. Matt brings invaluable commercial experience to the company, having over 20 years of experience working in IT.
With a background in engineering, he has a deep understanding of technology and how, when delivered and underpinned by a forward-thinking strategic approach massively benefit the businesses and organisations Matrix IT support.
Matt’s early career in technology and solution design has shaped his understanding of technology; designing and delivering solutions as well as managing teams which modernised the IT for a range of organisations from legal firms and accountancy practices to NHS Trusts. Over the last decade Matt has held Board level roles for multiple Managed Service Providers as well as providing ‘virtual IT director’ support for SME businesses across the South Coast.
This appointment represents the next stage of an evolving, exciting, and successful business and will allow the company to grow in a controlled and focussed way without compromise to the enviable reputation it has with staff and clients alike for providing excellent customer service and career opportunities.
Nic Cronin, who has been succeeded by Matt, says;

He will be supported in continuing to deliver high quality IT services by an experienced and expert board of Directors:
- Louise Gascoigne, Operations Director, has been at Matrix for 17 years. Dedicated to ensuring the operations team provides what is needed to give Matrix customers the best service, whilst also giving outstanding care and support to their employees.
- Kev Penny, Technical Director, has been at Matrix for 16 years. Responsible for the delivery of our service desk and outsource support, and ensuring we are offering our clients the latest services in technology.
- Steve Carnell, Commercial Director, has been at Matrix for 3 years and has nearly 20 years’ experience in the IT industry. Steve is passionate about providing strategic and best practice advice to Matrix customers, to optimise their IT Systems.
